Feathery Friends

My room has a nice arched window that looks out at the building next door. But if I look to one side out of it I can see the pool or if I look to the other side I have a nice view of a plam tree! (see previous post for pics)

The first morning we were here I woke up at a nice hour to the gentle cooing of pigeons. Actually, it was very early and to the insistent, loud cooing of pigeons!

For the first few days I was, lets just say annoyed, to have a great amount of noise going on that close to my head, waking me up when I very much wanted to be asleep.

Then I decided to embrace the situation since it was unlikely to change.

So I named them! With a little help from a certain roomie :-)

Wilbert and Marlene still wake me up nearly every morning. But instead of thinking, "Gr, stupid birds!" I just smile and enjoy having a little piece of nature on my window sill. It might help that it is also my signal that I still have a little time to snooze before my alarm goes off...

But whatever the case, my feathery friends are here to stay for the time being and keep me from feeling too lonely :-)
