Starting the Year in 5th Grade

The year got off to a roaring start- no surprise there!

Theme for the year: Puzzle pieces.

Class Verse for the year: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Psalm 133:1

In case you didn't suspect by now, there are some class unity aspects that our class needs to progress on. Praying we will see improvement!

Beginning of the year window (sorry it is hard to see!) was puzzle pieces that said Welcome to Miss Williams' Fifth Grade Class!

Beginning of the year bulletin board: We're Ansty for Fifth Grade!

They got to pick a food cut out, color it, and fill in the lines where it said "I am looking forward to...." with something they are excited about learning/doing this year.

First History chapter is about the development of the automobile and airplane. Thus: paper airplane contest in honor of the Wright brothers. I am sure Orville and Wilber would be honored!

First "Who would BUY this?!?!" at the local mall:

First random, stress-relieving craziness: sweet hag mask in Cost-U-Less.

Come on! You wouldn't have been able to resist putting it on any more than I could! :-)

Yes, the year is off to a roaring start and promises to continue that way. But it is good to be back in gear, most days :-)
