Please give me enough of Your grace to get through today...

Enough smiles to give one to each person I pass...

Enough patience to answer kindly each time a small voice says "Miss Williams..."

Enough coffee to stay awake....

Enough strength to keep my eyelids open...

Enough love to not respond the way I feel...

Enough understanding to know my fellow teachers are just as tired as me...

Enough inner character to not let the children You have given me see that today they do not feel like a blessing...

Enough energy to make school interesting....

Enough tenderness for the unloved ones....

Enough paperclips to organize all the work I assigned and will now be getting back with my students' effort poured into it.....

Enough stamina to squash each ant that hikes the trail across my desk...

Lord....

It Wednesday morning and its me again....

Im almost to third floor... Almost to my room...

And I don't have enough. Of anything.

But this day has been in your plans since eternity past and I trust you to give me...
